It’s an incredible time to be a Spurs fan, with one of the most talented young squads in Europe at our disposal and a huge new stadium on the way.
The future’s bright. The future’s Lilywhite.
Barnaby’s first Spurs memory was the devastating 1987 FA Cup Final defeat to Coventry, a match that was the perfect introduction to a lifetime supporting The Lilywhites in that it was so near and yet so far. As a goalkeeper himself, Barnaby can often be seen staring at posters of Hugo Lloris.
SpurredOn’s social media nerd, Jack bleeds Lilywhite (he even has an awful tattoo to prove it). Growing up Jack’s absolute hero was Super Teddy Sheringham, so much so that he sobbed for days when he was told his 96-97 Pony shirt was too small to be emblazoned with his idol’s name. A keen football player himself, Jack used to do all he could to imitate the former Spurs skipper, although now his abilities are more akin to those of Gary Doherty.
Rhys James has been a season ticket holder at Spurs since he was 11, in the Iversen, Ferdinand and Kasey Keller golden era. He goes to bed each night chanting "Do-do-do, Didier Zokora." Once, having arrived early at the lane, Rhys's dad Mike took him to chat to Martin Jol. Mike said everything Rhys planned to say ("great job, big fan, love your work") leaving Rhys to awkwardly shake the big man's hand and utter the word "brilliant." Tragic. Rhys's favourite player?
Benoit. No brainer.
Sports journalist but more importantly a Spurs fan for almost 30 years (ever since we oh-so-Spursily lost the FA Cup Final to Coventry!) I'm usually found singing on the Shelf, drinking wine on away days, and I'm eternally optimistic that one day we might win the league. Gazza, Lineker, Ginola, King and Sheringham all rank among my favourites, but our current crop might end up surpassing them all! But I'm probably best known for crying on SpurredOn the day we lost 5-1 to Newcastle...
Craig Mitch is an ultra passionate Spurs fan from North London. Born and raised in Tottenham until the age of 8, Craig spent most of his early life around local Spurs fans and most notably his father. He grew up watching the likes of Teddy Sheringham and David Ginola who really made him fall in love with the club. Fast forward 18 or so years and Craig still carries that same passion for the club into the world of YouTube, presenting Spurs content for his own channel and of course Spurred On.
