Zlatan Ibrahimovic started his United career like an absolute dream. He was aggressive, clinical, pretty much everything we hoped and expected he would be. It felt like a match made in heaven. He scored against Leicester in the Community Shield, then made it three consecutive games by scoring against Bournemouth and a brace against Southampton. It was excellent. 4 goals in his first 3 games! But after that initial flurry, only a goal against City in the league and Zorya in the Europa have come from the big Swede.

That's not to say he's been poor in all those games, against Leicester and Stoke he was excellent. But in games where we don't score, he really has gone missing. Watford he was poor, Hull, too. The Liverpool and Chelsea games this week, he was completely anonymous. Other players have got time to settle. Pogba can become all he wants to become and it can take 2-3 years, because he's young. But Zlatan's got one chance, one season, probably, to make this happen. He was a signing for right now and he needs to be performing right now!
The stats above are pretty sobering, but in the cold light of day Zlatan has managed 5 goals in 10 starts. About a par return for a striker in the Premier League. But par won't do for us, this season. He needs to show us what the hype is about.
