Yakubu is one of the Premier League’s most-loved goalscorers but he’s now having to pay to watch Non-League football at National League side Boreham Wood.
The 33-year-old striker is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish club Kayserispor in the summer but is making sure he still gets his regular fix of football by paying to watch Boreham Wood play, while also training with the team.
Boreham Wood manager, Luke Garland told BBC Three Counties Radio: “I’m trying my hardest to get him to sign a contract.

"Yak is courteous, he comes and watches the games, he pays entrance. He's fully on board with what I'm doing and what the club are doing."
'The Yak’, who now lives near Wood's Hertfordshire ground, is the 27th all-time top goalscorer in Premier League history, firing in 96 in 252 top-flight appearances for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton and Blackburn combined.
Boreham Wood enjoyed their best ever season last year, finishing 19th in the National League and are currently on track to improve further as they sit 12th after 15 games of the campaign.
