Enner Valencia is a man on the run. But he took the extreme measure of faking an injury in last night's World Cup Qualifier against Chile to try and escape Ecuadorean police, who were waiting for the Premier League striker by the side of the pithc during the match.
Valencia has got himself in trouble over alledged unpaid child support to his ex-wife for their five-year-old daughter. The amount owed is believed to be around £13,350, according to the newspaper El Universo. But the on-loan Everton forward is going to extreme measures to avoid paying a penny.
Ecuadorean police were waiting pitchside for Valencia during Thursday's World Cup qualification game against Chile. But rather than waiting to be arrested at the full-time whistle, the 26-year-old faked an injury in order to be carted off the field.
At that point, the police begin chasing him in what has to one of the most bizarre football situations ever witnessed:
Despite the police apparantly catching up with the Ecuador striker, Valencia managed to escape the stadium in the back of an ambulance, with his location now currently unknown.
