Germany legend Miroslav Klose has today announced his retirement from football after scoring 71 goals in 137 international appearances over the course of an incredible 18-year career.
Klose scored 16 World Cup goals and retires as the all-time leading goalscorer in football's biggest competition. He is also Germany's all-time leading goalscorer and is undoubtedly a legend of the game.
The 38-year-old will now begin a training programme with the national team as a coach under Joachim Low but what he achieved during his playing career will never be forgotten.
Following today's announcement, the overall reaction from fans around the world has been incredibly positive. Only 5% of fans online have been showing sadness, but that could just be at the fact that the German legend has played his last game.
