We're still a couple of months away from the January transfer window but we already have a contender for weirdest transfer rumour of the season, with Glen Johnson linked with a move to FC Barcelona.
The Stoke right-back is 32 and is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but that hasn't stopped Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo from suggesting Barcelona might look to make a January move for the former England international.
Just imagine if Johnson moved to Barca 😂

Johnson joins a host of experienced right-backs to have been linked with a move to the Spanish giants, with Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and Shakhtar's Darijo Srna also reportedly targets.
Barca can currently only count on Sergi Roberto at right-back, but he was a central midfielder prior to this season and is having to fill in at full-back while Aleix Vidal's future at the club continues to hang in the balance.
Luis Enrique wants an experienced right-back to join the squad in January, and Glen Johnson's name has now cropped up because he earned Champions League experience with both Chelsea and Liverpool.
Glen Johnson a transfer target for Barcelona.. This has to be some sort of wind up..... Surely

Unlike many of the other names being linked with a move, if Johnson were to sign for Barca, he would not be cup-tied in the competition and could therefore help them in their quest for a sixth Champions League title.
This seems like one of the most far-fetched transfer stories of the year and that's because it surely is...
